"The greatest thing about the CLU Theatre Design program is that you get to actually design a show as an undergrad! I recommend getting involved with the Black Box project if you want to put up your original theatrical works."

"The Television Production/Film Department is phenomenal. The internship program is one of the best on the West Coast. It's given me a great opportunity to learn what goes on behind the scenes."

The Dance Department brings in a lot of good choreographers from the LA area and they offer a lot of opportunities to aspiring young performers. The theatre dept. is very exceptional (and I know this cause I lived with two theatre majors)"

"USC is an awesome place to study theatre in all aspects.  Because the USC film school is the #1 film school in the country and the theatre school works so closely with the film school, the probability of success of an actor from USC is higher than anywhere else in California.  If anyone is interested in USC Theatre they can email me and find out about it.  All of the professors and lecturers for the theatre school are working professionally at the same time in acting, design, directing, everything. It is a wonderful place to build connections and establish yourself."

***SEVRIN MADE HER BROADWAY DEBUT IN  THE CRUCIBLE IN MARCH 2002!!!

"Boston University's program is ever improving.  One of the best schools in the country for a Bachelors in Acting.  Their Theatre Studies major is also top dog.  The conservatory program's Acting majors keep long hours (generally 9 am to 11 pm with only 2 breaks) with rehearsals even on Saturdays.  Don't expect to see a lot of Boston.  The training and connections are exceptional with the Huntington Theatre Company in residence and links to Williamstown Theatre Festival.  Training includes Linklater vocal technique, Shakespeare training with nationally renowned directors, Restoration and Jacobean training at London Academy of Dramatic Arts, Alexander Technique, and much more.  Four years conclude with Showcases in Boston, New York, and L.A.  Downsides:  only forty applicants accepted a year into a "performing arts" major, following freshman year students are "directed" into either the Acting track or the Theatre Studies track.  As with any school, Faculty and Administrative politics can be quite annoying."

"NYU is divided up into seven studios for drama majors, each depending upon acting method or focus. I am in the Playwrights Horizons Theater School. At PHTS, we do everything from acting to directing and design. There is a heavy emphasis on the collaborative effort and it is very interdisciplinary (i.e. we have a bunch of classes). The studio is not based upon one method of acting, nor on acting alone; it seeks to train aware and capable theater artists by allowing us to define our method of creating through making the connections between all of the different facets of theater and exposing us to basically everything (and letting us sift through it all to find our own personal gold). The atmosphere is very warm and positive, which is something to look forward to 3 days a week, usually at 9 in the morning. I am having an unbelievable experience and have learned more about theater and life in four months than I would have ever expected. Its a place which makes you very happy to be in the world of the theater."
